I’ve seen posts with people putting athletic grip tape so it doesn’t slip. The grip on it isn’t to useful since it spins around with the cranking if I don’t hold it tight. I either just pull back on the crank so the bean can loosen and I can continue grinding or I just crank a little harder. The Jx Pro is great I’ve never had it popcorn before but it can get caught while grinding at finer settings with light-medium roasts. I’ve only had two grinders a Jx Pro and a javapress one. At the end of the day, don't necessarily take it personal if you can't ever get the beans to work right. I haven't encountered that in a while, but in general, people often find high acidity exciting at first then boring after a while because it steps on all manner of complexity that can be experienced with more balance. There was a time when extremely light roasting was the rage and some roasters were selling ridiculous beans that were basically impossible to dial in. A finer grind might help until you start getting too many fines. Unfortunately, really hard, light roasted beans may require manipulating the grind (and everything else) to get them to work. If you can find that and adjust other parameters to deal with the variations in beans, you may get better results. I have spent a LOT of time fussing around with many different grinders and it really seems that each grinder/burr set has a sweet spot in terms of the grind setting that produces the most favorable particle distribution possible for that grinder.
